Miniature Aircraft USA Furion 6 Electric Flybarless Helicopter
I have been testing this helicopter for the past few months with Kyle Stacy and Beast, and we are all syked about this thing finally being available to the public.
To be honest- the new Furion 6 from MA has really won me over in the past few weeks. The model is a breeze to put together and I didnt come across anything tricky at all during the build. Both side frames pretty much utilize 3x6mm bolts everywhere, so that takes out for most of the guessing that sometimes happens with some of our models.
For those of you currently flying the Fury 55, you will be happy to know that both the rotor head and entire tail boom assembly is 99% identical to each other, which means you only need to stock one boom, one main shaft, etc. to cover parts for both models.
We have also been testing the new Flybarless Rotor Head for the Fury 55/ Furion 6 which looks absolutely wickid, and flys insane! Because of the direct servo to swash CCPM setup, the flybarless feel of this model is very natural and hardly took me any time to get used to. This minimizes any interactions that usually occur when running high ratio bell cranks.
The Furion 6 kits are available as both Flybarless and Flybarred models. I believe it is the same price for both.
Many people have been asking to post my current setup for the Furion 6 so here we go:
Stock Furion 6 Flybarless Kit- no upgrades
Scorpion 4035 560KV Motor with 14 tooth pinion (6mm shaft, mod 1)
Castle Creations ICE HV 80 ESC (Governor mode at 2200 rpm)
Thunder Power 5s 5000mah batteries in series (10s)
Mavrikk 600mm Blades
95mm tails
Futaba BLS451 Cyclic Servos
Futaba 9256 Tail Servo
Futaba 8 channel HS receiver
Scott Gray Reactor X2 Regulator with 2200 mah RX Pack
Futaba CGY 750
Flight time-> At 2200 rpm, I am safely getting 5 minutes of flight time, putting about 80% back into the batteries.
Here are also some pics of my setup.
